Beijing Travel Guide
My name is Jenny tan, I am a Guilin local guide, but I am not a local. I was born in a small city in the south of Guangxi province. I came to Guilin in 1993 to attend the institute of tourism where I graduated in 1996. After that I started to work as a tour guide in Guilin!
During these ten years, I witnessed all the changes of Guilin, it just like a young girl becaming more and more stylish and charming; I also discover its beauty day by day, and love it more and more each day. I love its natural beauty and enjoy the cultural atmosphere around me! Now I feel more like a local!
When working as a tour guide, I want to show my guests all I love and cherish of my homeland, I am eager to show my guests the China from my eyes which I think it is very interesting and lively! By doing so I get to know more about my country my people and my culture, and this enriches my life! People are so impressed that I always look so happy when I’m working! How can I not be happy I’m happy about what I’m doing!
I am often asked why I’m always so enthusiasm and friendly to my guest? Especially as I have been doing the same job for years? But how can I not be? When I look my job, my heart is full of love and gratitude! I have so many happy memories of distinguished beautiful and interesting guests who touched my life, I learned from them and they make me happier and more optimistic, the world is so beautiful and colorful because of its differences. And I strongly believe that the world is a far more beautiful place than is reported in the news media, many a visitor has convinced me that people from all over the world can get along as one a big family. I guess this is the most charming thing about tourism.
Dear friend, if you ever come to Guilin, you might meet a young lady who has smiling eyes like crescent moon! That might be me, tan jian xia, my Chinese name, it means colorful clouds. I wish I could be a piece of colorful cloud to decorate this beautiful world!
