Thua Thien-Hue Vestiges-Dynastic Temple
East of The Mieu is the Canh Y Palace. West of it is a square-shaped  chapel for the worship of the God of Earth.A wall runs all around The Mieu with the Khai Dich Gate on the east, the Sung Thanh Gate on the west, the Hien Huu Gate and Doc Huu Gate at the back. In the yard of The Mieu stand the Nine Dynasty Urns. Behind them is a wall with the Hien Lam Pavilion in the middle. Left of this pavilion is the Tuan Liet Gate topped by a belfry and right of it is the Sung Cong Gate with a drum-tower atop.Outside of the Hien Lam Pavilion are the Left and Right Houses, dedicated to meritorious mandarins who had devoted themselves to Nguyen Anh and his successors.  China has rewritten the world's history of railway construction with its completion of the world's highest railway, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, on the roof of the world.Below are some facts about the Qinghai-Tibet Railway:Qinghai-Tibet Railway is the world's highest railway. Some 960 kilometers of its tracks are located 4,000 meters above sea level and the highest point is 5,072 meters, at least 200 meters higher than the Peruvian railway in the Andes, which was formerly the world's most elevated track.The railway is the world's longest plateau railroad, extending 1,956 kilometers from Qinghai's provincial capital Xining to Lhasa in Tibet. The newly completed Golmud-Lhasa section zigzags 1,142 kilometers across the Kunlun and Tanggula mountain ranges.[read more]
