| Double-Pagoda Temple, Taiyuan |
The temple, also called Yongzuo Temple, was built during the Wanli Reign of the Ming Dynasty. Double Pagoda Temple is renowned for its two pagodas, which have become the symbol of Taiyuan.
The two octagonal pagodas are 53 metres with 13 storeys. They are decorated with exquisite brick brackets and upturned glaze tiled roof. From the top of them one has a panoramic view of the city and the Fenhe River. The temple also has a famous peony garden where ancient peony plants and clove trees, planted in the Ming Dynasty, can be seen.
