On our hike we will take in Huangshan's most spectacular vistas and reach its highest peak - Lotus Peak (5,900 ft/1800 m). Huangshan is one of China's most famous landscapes, so be prepared to share the trails with others. While the scenery is truly striking, this is not the place to come for quiet contemplation! We will overnight at the summit, and weather permitting, take in a beautiful sunset and sunrise.
Mt.Huangshan: known as "the loveliest mountain of China", famous for its magnificent scenery made up of many granite peaks and rocks emerging out of clouds.

After sunrise, we'll descend the mountain by cable car and begin our journey to Wuyuan, in northern Jiangxi province. On our 1.5 hour drive to the Jiangxi Province, we'll take in beautiful countryside scenery: with ancient villages set in the mountains and valleys, rice paddies, tea plantations, farmers ambling down the road, water buffalo in tow. The landscape here is stunning - a favorite of photographers - and offers a genuine experience of what life is like in China's countryside. We will stop by to visit Likeng village of Qiukou county. With all the house building along a clear brook, this village is quite photogenic. We'll take a break in the beautiful village and have cup of local green tea. Overnight in Wuyuan county.

Get up early, we'll drive 1.5 hours to Jiangling, a place that few people has visited . Here we'll start our 3 hours hike. If you're traveling in March, you'll see the most beautiful scenery with golden rape flowers all around. Also, the rice terrace will be breath taking and unforgettable at any season. Along the old village tracks, we'll pass by ancient villages one by one. For lunch we'll sample simple
countryside fare in a local farmer's house. After lunch, we'll continue our hike and arrive Xiaoqi. There are two villages with the same name--Upper Xiaoqi and Lower Xiaoqi; in-between is a 1km long stone paved track. Hanging around these villages, you'll find Ming/Qing old houses and have a chance to communicate with people living in the ancient villages. We'll drive back to Huangshan in the late afternoon, Overnight in Tunxi.
Tunxi is an ancient city with a long history. Early in the Qin and Han dynasties (more than 2200 years ago) a prefecture was set up. During the period of the Three Kingdoms, Mao Gan, a general of the state of Wu, once quartered his army in Tunxi. As for that the name Tunxi came into existence.
Day 5 Tunxi to Hongcun (Yi County) (B,L)
After breakfst, we will approach to Hongcun, the main village in Yi County. We will exploring old houses that are several hundred years old; each piece of intricat e wood carving or exquisite piece of furniture here is a true sample of a living antique. We recommend you to bring enough film, as this is definitely one of the most photogenic villages in China. We will drive to the airport in the late afternoon.
Hong Cun Village: An ancient town over 800 years old leaning against Mt. Huangshan, it is folded in the fog of the Mt. which makes it look like a river and mountain picts. It enjoys the reputation of "The Chinese town in the pictures". Especially, the whole town distributes like a "cow", which made it one of the wonders in the world culture heritage.
