Arrive / Kunming
Upon arrival, be met & transferred to your hotel in Stone Forest, about 90 km from Downtown Kunming, enjoy the beautiful surroundings while the crowd of visitors do not disturb you. The night of Stone forest is so unique, which you can not find in other place of the world.

Stone Forest is located in Shilin County, 89 kilometers from Kunming. The area, covering 350 square kilometers, is the highest karst terrain in the world and a national scenic area in China.

Kunming / Lijiang
Transfer via: afternoon flight
Morning feed the seagulls in Green Lake, then move on to visit the Flower & Bird Market in the old part of Kunming city. Take an afternoon flight from Kunming to Lijiang, meet at Lijiang airport and transfer to the Lashi Lake, check in the 1 star Bird-viewing Hotel by the side of the lake.

Day 3 (B, L, )
Lijiang
Morning viewing birds in Lashi Lake, you have chance to see more than 50 kinds of birds here. Afternoon visit the Lijiang old town which is a world culture heritage. Visit Square Street, Mu Prince Mansion

The Lijiang ancient town of Dayan: The town was built in the late song dynasty and the early Yuan dynasty and was listed by the UNESCO on the list of the world's major cultural heritages in 1997.

Day 4 (B, L )
Lijiang / Tiger Leaping Gorge/ Daju
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, take chair-lift up to the Yak's Meadow, hike in the mountain for about 2 hours, enjoy the breathtaking view of the main peak(5596 m high), visit the old house of Joseph Rock, who stayed in Lijiang for 27 years from 1922 to 1949.  Stay overnight at the local village of Daju Town.

The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: The mountain has 13 peaks of which the highest is 18000 feet above sea level. It is a treasure of wild plants and rare animals.

Joseph Rock: lived in a village at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain for 27 years from 1922 to 1949, left us thousands of photoes and articles of the culture in this area.

Day 5 (B, L, D)
Daju / Tiger Leaping Gorge / Middle Gorge
Start your hikking trip from Daju Town, and your hiking tour starts here. Visit the famous Middle and Uper Tiger Leaping Gorge, the toal hiking journey today is 36 km.

The Tiger Leaping Gorge: one of the world's four great gorges - is located in Hutiaoxia Town in Zhongdian County,is honored as one of the deepest and most marvelous gorges on the globe.

Walk down the mountain through trails for 2 km (about 1 hour) to a small ferry, cross the river by boat, climb up 3.5 km for 2 hours and arrive Yongke Village which is located at Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge, continue your walk after a simple lunch break.

After lunch, 2 more hours walking down the steep cliff to the bank of Jinsha River, worship the dangerours shoal of "Starriness", it is the most narrow part of the gorge, where a tiger can easily jump over the Jinsha River.

Middle Gorge / Baishui Terrace /Zhongdian
Drive to Zhongdian, on the way visit to Baidi Village which is famous for Naxi folk culture. Also visit the Baishui Terrace.

Baishui Terrace: At the foot of the Haba Snow Mountain is the mysterious White Field, also called Baishuitai, birthplace of the Naxi ethnic minority Dongba Culture.

Day 7 (B, L, )
Zhongdian
Drive to Shudu lake, Bita Lake, visit Tibetan Family.

Shudu lake, at an altitude of 3,266 meters above sea level, is located 8 kilometers northwest of the county seat of Zhongdian. It has the largest grassland in Zhongdian, surrounded by mountains on three sides.

Zhongdian
Viewing birds in Napa Lake nature reserve, including the black-necked cranes. In winter, the lake is in fact a wetland, you can rent horses to ride into the nearly-dried lake to view the countless birds from a close distance. Afternoon, visit the Songzanlin Monastery which was built under the instruction of the 5th Dalai Lama

Zhongdian / Kunming / Depart
Transfer via: air
Free time in the old town of Zhongdian, transfer to Kunming airport to majoy Chinese City of Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou.   Check flight schedule here.

Transfer to the airport for flight to next destination.

Notice: The raining season in Zhongdian, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lujiang and Lijiang is from late May to early September, roads might be block by mountain slide and falling rocks.  The best traveling time for our trekking tour is from October to April.

In case of bad weather condition or road difficulties, the original itinerary which has been confirmed by us might has to be changed accordingly by our local tour guide, or even the whole trip could be cancelled eventually.   Please trust the judgement of our expienced tour guide, they are the expert and have escored trekking trips for years.
