Itinerary:

Day 1
Beijing / Lhasa
Transfer via: by plane-booked by yourself
Own arrange to call a taxi to Beijing airport by yourself to catch the morning flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at the airport, pickup by our English speaking tour guide and drive to hotel. Free at leisure to acclimatize yourself to the high latitude.

Day 2
Lhasa
Visit Potala Palace in the morning, and Jokhang Temple in the afternoon. Free time on The Barkhor Street.

Day 3
Lhasa
Today's visit is a type of exploring the ancient Tibetan culture, should not be missed in Lhasa: The Drepong Monastery, The Sera Monastery, Norbulingka.

The Drepong Monastery: a cluster of white buildings resembling a riceheap, against the backdrop of Mount Gyenbuwndze. Founded in 1416, Drepong is the biggest and richest monastery in Tibet that was divided into four Tantric colleges - that specialised in different branches of knowledge.

The Sera Monastery: lies on the northern edge of Lhasa at the base of Tatipu Hill. 'Sera' means 'merciful hail' denoting its rivalry with the 'Rice Heap' (Drepong) since hail destroys rice. Sera was smaller than Drepong with about 7,000 monks but was very rich and comparable in power.

The Norbulingka Park: Norbulingka means "Jeweled Garden". It was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama at the very beginning and later served as the whole governmental administration.

Day 4
Lhasa / Namtso Lake / Lhasa
After breakfast, drive for 250km to Namtso for your visiting. After the tour, drive back to Lhasa.

Namtso: Tibetan for "Heavenly Lake". It is regarded as one of Tibetan Buddhism's three holiest lakes. The lake is a pilgrimage site for Buddhists, who consider it the seat of Paramasukha Chakrasamvara. Buddhists believe that buddhas, bodhisattvas and vajras will assemble at Namtso in the Tibetan year of the sheep
.

Day 5
Lhasa / Tsedang
Drive from Lhasa to Tsedang (about 200km). Visit Samye Monastery, Yumbulhakang and Tradruk Temple.

Samye Monastery: Being the first monatery,the Samye Monastery is at the foot of Mt. Haibusi on the north bank of the Yaluzangbu riber in Jialang county.

Yongbulakang: the palace for the 1st Tubo King Niechi in the Yalong River Valley. It is also called "the Mosher and Song Holy Hall".

Day 6
Tsedang / Gyantse / Shigatse
Drive to Gyantse (about 430km). Visit Yamdrok Lake and Kamba La Pass, Pelkor Chode Monastery & the Kumbum Stupa in Gyantse. Later drive to Shigatse, stay overnight there.

Yomdrok Lake: within Langkamu county, with an area of 638 square km and a coastal line of 250 km. Yamdroktso Lake (4408 m), where you will enjoy the vista of its pincer-shaped expanse of turquoise water, with the mysterious Mt. Donang Sangwari (5,340m) on the peninsula beyond, and the snow peaks of Nojin Gangzang (7,191m) in the distance.

 

Palkhor Monastery was founded in 1418. It houses both Pelkor Chode Monastery and the Kumbum Stupa, the world famous 9-storey 100,000-Buddha Pagoda with 9 floors, 108 doors and 77 rooms.

Day 7
Shigatse / Tingri
Visit Tashilunpo Monastery in the morning, later drive to Tingri directly. Stay overnight in Tingri.

Tashilhumo Monastery: it was built in 1447 and the seat of the Panchen Lama. The monastery houses a giant statue of the Maitreya Buddha and a tomb of the 4th Panchen Lama, which contains masses of jewels and gold.

Day 8
Tingri
Drive to visit Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk Monastery on the way back to Tingri.

Mount Everest is the world's highest mountain above sea level at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft). It is located in the Himalayas in Asia. The highest mountain in the world attracts many well-experienced mountaineers as well as novice climbers who are willing to pay substantial sums to professional mountain guides to complete a successful climb. The mountain, while not posing substantial technical climbing difficulty on the standard route, still has many inherent dangers such as altitude sickness, weather and wind. Mt. Everest has two main climbing routes,the southeast ridge from Nepal and the northeast ridge from Tibet, as well as many other less frequently climbed routes.

Rongbuk Monastery or Rongphu is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Nyingma sect in Basum Township, Dingri County, Xigazê Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. According to Michael Palin, it now houses thirty Buddhist monks and thirty nuns, but another source reports that locals say there are only about 20 nuns and 10 monks, although previously there were about 500 monks and nuns living here.

Day 9
Tingri / Lhasa
Drive back to Lhasa, enjoy the beautiful view on the way.

Day 10
Lhasa / Depart
Transfer via: by plane-booked by yourself
Transferred to Lhasa airport for the flight to your next destination.
