Huangyaguan Great Wall trekking tour

Tour code: CY-001
Duration: 1 day
Route: Beijing, Tianjin, Huangyaguan Great Wall
Attractions: Huangyaguan Great Wall, East Qing Tombs

Itinerary:

We will visit an impressive section of the Wall known as Huangyaguan. This area is famous for its tranquility and lack of tourists. After a 2.5 hours drive to Tianjin you will be able to start trekking. Although a restored area of the Wall, the landscape is truly breathtaking and the sheer absence of people gives an indescribable sense of calmness. An incredible contrast to down town Beijing, this hike is great if what you are looking for is an escapade from noise and pollution.

This hike with spectacular views consists of walking up the highest tower, then descending back where we will be picked up by a bus. The hike takes 2 hours and will be followed by a relaxing authentic country meal and cold beer.

We will then proceed to driving to the largest and most complete complex of imperial tombs in China located in Tianjin. These tombs which date back to the 1600s are considered a national treasure, and are a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Altogether 161 members of the imperial family, including five emperors and 15 empresses, were buried here. You will be able to soak yourself in some of China's history and listen to intriguing stories related to the Qing dynasty.

Later in the afternoon, drive back to Beijing.
