Upon arrival at Shanghai airport, you will be met by our English speaking tour guide and drive to hotel. Leisure on your own for the rest of the day.

[ Optional ] JinMao Tower: As the tallest building in China and the third tallest building in the world, JinMaoTower is located in the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone in Pudong. It is an intelligent building offering services for business, hotel, recreation, sightseeing and shopping. It covers a total construction area of 290,000 square meters and is 420.5 meters high. It has 88 stories above the ground, three stories underground and a six-story annex.

Yuyuan GardenThe Yuyuan Garden, also known as the “Yu Garden”, is an eminent classical Chinese garden and famed as “an architectural miracle in South China”. Inside the Yu Garden, you will be fascinated with traditional Chinese style houses, grottoes, pavilions, lotus ponds, and zigzag bridges crossing streams.
Shanghai Acrobats ShowThere are two famous Shanghai Acrobatic Theatres: Shanghai Circus World and Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe. Mostly, performances are held each night and last for about 1.5 - 2 hours. Jade Buddha TempleIt's a peaceful refuge from the bustle Shanghai, quite venerable, known for the two white jade Buddha statues imported from Burma. Nanjing RoadIf you are a fashion-seeking shoppers, this is the right place for you where all-in-one shopping malls, gorgeous restaurants and spectacular night views can be found. Buildings with distinctive features erect on both side of the street, huge signboards and advertisements show the city’s prosperity.
Yuyuan MarketLocated next to the Yuyuan Garden, it's a lively market that specializes in traditional Chinese arts and crafts. Souvenir hunters should not miss this hot tourist destination. Also you can try some Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, vegetarian buns, chicken soup to experience a little of the Shanghai culture.
The BundThe Bund is always the first thing to hit tourists when they visit Shanghai as it is regarded as Shanghai’s magnificent landmark. It is a waterfront area of Pu Xi (Shanghai Old Town), facing the newer part of Shanghai – Pu Dong.

Day  3  Shanghai, Lhasa  ( B,L )
Continue your Shanghai tour untill transferred to Shanghai train station for the train to Lhasa. Train No.: T164/T165 (leaves Shanghai at 20h08, arrives Lhasa at 21h00 the third day), takes 48 hours and 52 minutes (soft sleeper). Stay overnight on the train.
The French ConcessionA residential area of Shanghai once designated for the French, it is a very nice European place in Shanghai with lots of French and German cafes, tree-lined avenues, up-market stores as well as historical buildings.
Shanghai MuseumShanghai reputedly holds China's best collection of treasures from ancient bronzes, exquisitely carved jades and Ming and Qing dynasty antique furniture. Every visitor to Shanghai should try to pop in for at least an hour, but it's easy to spend a whole morning here.
Oriental Pearl TV TowerWith 467.9 meters in height, It is the forth tower in height in Asia and the sixth tallest in the world, opposite to the Bund. Its transparent elevator will take you to the top, which will offer a quiet good view of Shanghai. The basement houses the Shanghai Municipal History Museum.

[ Optional ] The Famen Temple: Famen or Famensi Temple is located to the west of Xian city and sits in the 120km Fufeng county. The temple has a history of 1700.
Day  4  Lhasa  (   )
On the train. There are nine sightseeing platforms designed on the way to give passengers the opportunity to view the unique plateau landscape.

[ Optional ] Tashilhunpo Monastery: Tashilhunpo Monastery, the home of the Panchen Lama, is located on the hillside overlooking Shigatse northwest of the town. Tashilhunpo Monastery for the most part escaped the ravages of the Cultural Revolution and its chapels contain countless statues and mural decorated halls. It was established in 1447 by Genden Trup.
Day  5  Lhasa  (   )
Arrival at Lhasa railway station at 21h00 in the evening, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to the hotel. Leisure on your own at the rest of the day to adjust to Tibet's high altitudes.

[ Optional ] The Barkhor Street: The Barkhor Street is Lhasa's inner pilgrim circuit shaped roughly like an octagon that runs around the Jokhang. The circuit is lined with markets, shops, stalls and street vendors providing every conceivable item a Tibetan could need. The best place to start the circuit is right outside the Jokhang in a clockwise direction.
