Beijing tour and Beijing travel .Shrouded in mystery and isolated from the outside world for many, many years, Beijing tour has opened its borders and its heart to welcome travelers into this most fascinating country. If you travel nowhere else, Beijing travel! A morning visit to the Forbidden City in Beijing has been arranged to catch the morning rays of sunlight as they cascade across the golden rooftops of the palace temples and halls. Adequate time has been set aside for Beijing photography and exploring the most popular areas of the complex. Your visit will then continue on to 100-acre Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the world's largest open square. Photographic opportunities in Beijing include famous Tiananmen Gate, Mao's Mausoleum, the monument to the people's heroes, and the Great Hall of the People. Beijing is located in the northeastern corner of China. The city limits of Beijing extend some 80km (50mi), including the urban and the suburban areas and the nine counties under its administration - in other words, it's huge. Though it may not appear so in the shambles of arrival, Beijing is a place of very orderly design. Long, straight boulevards and avenues are crisscrossed by a network of lanes. Places of interest are either very easy to find if they're on the avenues, or impossible to find if they're buried down the hutongs (narrow alleys). Beijing is situated at 40 degrees north latitude and 116 degrees east longitude. It is 43 metres above sea level and 183 kilometres from the sea. Beijing covers an area of 16,800 square kilometres, 38% of it is flat land and 62% mountains.Beijing has a continental climate. Annual rainfall averages nearly 700 millimetres, most of it comes in July and August. Winter is dry and cold and has little snow, The frost-free period is 185 days. The best time to visit Beijing is May, September and October, when people enjoy bright sunny sky. Some 690,000 years ago, Peking Man lived at Zhoukoudian, 48 kilometres southwest of Beijing. A small town appeared on the present site of southwestern Beijing in 1045 B. C. It was named Ji and then changed to Yan. At the beginning of the 10th century, it was the second capital of the Liao Dynasty. From then on, the city had been the capital of the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties until 1911.
