United Airlines (UA) began a non-stop air service between Beijing and Washington on March 29th, 2007. Since then, passengers in both cities can flight directly to their destination cities, Beijing or Washington direct without changing planes in Germany or Japan. Now the planes (Boeing 747-400) fly between Beijing Capital International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport every day, offering a great convenience to passengers. Flights to Chicago and San Francisco started at the same time.
Furthermore, United Airlines has connecting flights for passengers who are going to some other big cities in eastern United States. At Beijing Airport, passengers from the United States can get connecting flights to Xian, Guangzhou, Shenyang and other 13 Chinese cities on the same day.
The airport locates about 25 kilometers (16 miles) northeast of downtown Beijing. A convenient, comfortable and regular shuttle service operated by the civil aviation authority runs once every 30 minutes from the airport to downtown Beijing at a cost of 16 Yuan per person. Alternatively, taxis are available for approximately 120 Yuan to the city (not including suburbs). Be sure to avoid the guy who are lurking at the edge of the airport arrival hall and over-warm to offer you a ride. Be noticed they do not have Taxi license. Head outside and join the official taxi queue and make sure your driver uses the meter. Note: 10 Yuan airport expressway taxi toll is your responsibility.
